John Denver became a star with the folk-based songs he composed, the majority of which were situated in Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in the love of Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's famous anthems about Colorado have been a major influence on many to relocate to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated that John Denver was by far one of the most well-known performers who embodies Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first inductee, was honored with this honor in 2011. He has become the personification of Colorado to the many people across the globe. On my trips, I've met people who are from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell people you're from Colorado the first words they say are Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo singer after a brief stint in small folk bands. Danoff had written the song in the spirit of Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear an early version of the song and realized it was going to be one of the Top 10 hits. A few days after performing to an excited audience on the streets of Washington D.C., the artist recorded the song.
